Providing Peace of Mind: What a career in insurance means at M&G

At Morris & Garritano, we do things differently when it comes to insurance. Headquartered in San Luis Obispo, but growing throughout California, we’ve proudly protected the businesses and families of our community since 1885.

For us, insurance isn’t just a matter of policies; it’s about providing peace of mind. This understanding guides the work our teams do every day — whether working directly with clients, carriers, or focusing on internal, agency support. No matter their role, everyone plays a vital part.

    Numerous career paths and opportunities

There are many different avenues for a career in insurance. The industry is vast and dynamic and keeping up with market trends is a never-ending learning process. But with nearly 150 employees spread across 21 different states with three office locations and large remote coverage, we house a diverse pool of talent far beyond the traditional salesperson role.

Whether strategic and analytical or organized and diplomatic, we offer numerous opportunities and career paths at M&G with personalized goal setting and investment to support the development  of people. Our team is made up of members who’ve come from all over in a variety of professional specializations. Whether having sought out a role in insurance or ending up in the industry by accident, we’ve all found a commonality here within our agency.

Serving now as our Project Management Director, Jordan Sullivan joined us as an intern in our HR department. What keeps her at M&G, she says, is the alignment of mission and connection she feels to the people within the agency. “I trust M&G,” Jordan says, “And I trust they have my best interest at heart because that’s the kind of support I’ve seen and experienced.” Similar sentiments are shared cross-departmentally, whether working in administration or commercial marketing.

At M&G, our work is purpose driven.  We believe an engaged workplace is a productive workplace. This means we aren’t satisfied with the status quo; we want to be a company of people who love what they do. That’s why our agency is committed to being a place where our employees thrive, wherever they are.

We are honored to be a noted industry leader in employee engagement and workplace satisfaction and are routinely recognized for our family-friendly policies and purpose-focused culture. It’s this principle of higher-level service that keeps us focused on our mission and empowered to be our best.

    Common focus on purpose-driven service

In serving our clients, we focus on building meaningful relationships and providing proactive, personalized communication. We believe trust is earned and strive to leave lasting impacts on each other, our clients, and our community. It’s a responsibility we don’t take lightly.

Our clients know they can count on us when they need us most. Beyond insurance solutions, we go the extra mile to provide partnership and advocacy. This personalization has been a hallmark of our service since our inception.

    Doing work that what matters

At Morris & Garritano, we pride ourselves on our superior level of service. Throughout our ranks, our people know that whatever their role, they are important part of our larger purpose as an agency. Through employee engagement and regular recognition, we strive to honor the efforts of our employees and reinforce our mission as a company.

When it comes to insurance, we’re proud to stand as leading industry experts. Since our beginning, over 135 years ago, we’ve been grounded on our core values of working with integrity, providing peace of mind, and building meaningful relationships with those we serve. That’s insurance the Morris & Garritano way.
